Gooseberry Neck, Horseneck Beach State Park, Westport, Mass.: From Providence take Rt 195 East to Rt 88 South. At the end of Rt 88, by the beach, turn right. Follow the road out over the causeway into the Parking lot. The best launch is the sandy beach to the east. If wind conditions are not favorable for a beach launch, the west side is available but rocky. The causeway is very narrow and shared by fishermen. There are several portable toilets on site in the summer season. Off season, dense bushes provide limited discrete privacy. The parking fills up fast in the summer season, and parking is better off-season.
