Sample Image of Cape Cod Satellite IR water Temperatures

Note (by M Krabach) that the white areas over land represent areas that were out of sensor range for the satellite, probably due to radiational cooling. I recorded a temperature of 36 F in Cumberland , RI (under cover, not exposed to the sky) at 5:30 AM at the time this image was taken.
